the other day, as i was driving, i realized something... i'm the same age and the exact same amount of weeks pregnant as my late sister-in-law amy was when she was hospitalized for a blood clot in her brain. her little baby was delivered via emergency c-section when he was only 26 weeks developed. after 3 months in the nicu and multiple surgeries, he was released and is now a healthy, inquisitive little 4 year old boy.
it amazes me to think that my baby could possibly live outside of my womb right now. she still feels like a little alien moving around inside me, but she's a real little human. that is just amazing to me.

me and my mom were talking about how much we liked you the other day. she said she ran into you. thats how it came up. we don't talk about you everyday or anything... I mean, not that we wouldn't enjoy talking about you... umm. yeah. anyway.
i can't believe how much that story just seems like a story to me.. i've heard it so much, and know the details so well, but don't have any memories about it because i was gone. but it's always inspiring to think back on, and makes me realize our families are so much stronger than we know.
