the following day, our girls were busy attending workshops all morning. they made crafts, attended classes and worked on some humanitarian projects.

that afternoon, they helped with the "amazing race" competition. each girl worked at a different "city" where each ward had to find and complete different tasks, within a set time frame. there was even a wandering injured person who they had to stop and help, putting their newly acquired first aid certification to use.
everyone really seemed to enjoy it all. afterwards, everyone joined in for a huge water fight. most of us leaders steered clear of it, especially erin and i since we had to be ready for our conclusion to our ongoing skit within a few hours. it was the last night and the most important.
we came so close to having it ruined, by an accidental mishap. just 30 minutes before we were supposed to start, we realized that the white dresses that we had used the first night of our skit, were accidentally sent home with someone and we were left with only seven to divide amongst our girls! we had to think quickly, so i ran back to the cabin to figure out how much white clothing we could gather amongst us all, while erin ran up to the other leaders to ask them to gather as much white as possible, too. as she was standing there in the room we had just had a meeting in, someone looked up at the white curtains hanging on the windows, and a lightbulb went off. they took them all down and erin and i worked out a way to make them look like dresses. it amazed us how many times, things somehow worked out for us. the evening program went well, and the spirit again was so strong as the girls carried out the ending to the skit. they all looked so beautiful in their white dresses {and curtains}.
afterwards, we all divided up for our ward's family home evening, where we had a lesson and played a game. this is by far my favorite picture of the whole trip...
after fhe, we had a dance party for all of the ycl's. we had so much fun dancing the night away, us leaders included.
our last day, was spent cleaning out our cabins and saying our goodbyes. i had no idea how much i would miss everyone. we all had such a great time and it was sad to see it all have to end. even with all the run-ins with the weird bugs, spiders and skunks, the cold showers and inconvenient bathrooms, i still miss being there.
i guess there's always next year. hee hee.
