my mom has wanted my girls' ears pierced since birth. heck, if there was a way to pierce them in utero, she would've wanted them done then. i wasn't sure what i wanted, but bryce, refused to let his precious little babies endure such a thing. he stated that he wouldn't pierce their ears until they themselves told him that they wanted them done.
well that day came. a few months before turning five, ava decided that she wanted "pierced ears like mommy". and so for her 5th birthday, we told her she could do it. we were as honest as we could be, to make sure it was really something she wanted. we told her it would hurt, that she had to take really good care of them, she couldn't play with them, and if they got infected we would have to take them out and not pierce them until she was much older. and she still insisted that she was ready. so the monday after her birthday, we took her on down to get her ears pierced.
and you know what? she was definitely ready.

as soon as she was done, emaline who was watching, turned to bryce and stated she wanted hers pierced too.
"they have to be five and tell me themselves that they want them." he stated.
so much for that.

i did emmi's when she was 9 months.
i'm thinking it may have been a waste of money because by age 2 she realized she could take them out...
we have lost all of our 10 pack of earrings (minus the piercing ones) and every so often i have to re-pierce her ears so that my $60 spent on those holes was not a waste of money.
5 is probably a much better age.

She is so cute and her earrings look beautiful:) Lexi had hers done when she was 2 and then one fell out and I was dumb and just stuck it back in without cleaning it and her ear got infected and I couldn't put it back in. She was screaming and no longer wanted her ears pierced. We will see if she ever decides to get them pierced again, all my fault,LOL:)
