ava awoke a bit grumpy from her nap, so when we got there she needed a little warm-up time. once she was in the water she was much happier. ruby was so unrestrained and kept trying to "swim" to the deeper waters. multiple times she would wander out to a deeper part and slowly sink into the water until she was completely underwater. she kept scaring me and i kept diving to "save her life", nicole was much more used to her brave daughter and she would calmly wander over and scoop her out of the water. mom always knows best, because she was just fine every time we pulled her out from the water, she is so good at holding her breath and not choking on the water. she had no reservations and continued to scare me with her underwater tricks.
ava, enjoyed splashing but wasn't as excited as i thought she would be. maybe it was because of her grumpy awakening, or the fact that i wanted her to be excited. she always seems to react the complete opposite as i expect in everything. i was able to snap one picture of her smiling... proof that she did have fun.
while the girls splashed around, nicole and i tried to have a conversation between our chasing of kids and over the loud waterfall beside us. it was nice to get out of the house and have some fun company with me. poor ava's face was getting so red from the heat. she refused to wear her once beloved hat, so her poor head was getting so hot! although, i slathered plenty of sunscreen on her, she started to look as if she were getting burned, so we went home.
once she got cooled off, the pinkness wore off and i realized that it really was just the heat that was turning her so red. i would've felt so bad if i hadn't protected her with plenty of sunscreen. my poor fair skinned baby. she's lighter than all of my friends kids... how is that possible??
anyways, we had lots of fun and can't wait to play with ruby and nicole again! thanks for the fun play date, nicole! let's do it again soon!

This looks like so much fun! Next time you go, let me know! I am inviting myself!
What pool is that? Ava always looks so stylish, not to mention she is just beautiful. Also, hurray for nursery, we love it!
We had been talking forever about doing this. I'm glad we finally made it happen. I'm sorry though, that my fearless daughter almost gave you a heart attack! For sure we need to do this again soon, we had so much fun with you guys!
how fun. me and brynlee go to the pool once a week. she loves the water! thanks for the caulking advice. i have been doing that and the lines are very crisp...minus a few chips here and there from the sticky tape. the play room is a big open room so it shouldnt be too overwhelming. i cant wait to get it finished!
so fun and cute! I love zero depth pools!
what a perfect pool for the babies especially to cool off. What cute bathing suits they have! I love pool pictures! I can't wait to have a girl in like 5 years from now (hopefully) so I can dress her in cute bathing suits like you. You should make some. I bet you are talented enough :)
