we made it!
thanks for all the great suggestions guys! i actually didn't attempt the benadryl in fear that it might have done the opposite of what i wanted to happen, besides i didn't have any on hand. i'm glad i didn't because ava was great! she didn't cry once and was entertained the entire trip. she only spilled apple juice on me twice, which in my opinion makes for a successful flight! checking in all the luggage and carseat was quite a different story. i can't believe how much a small little girl needs to go on a trip! it was quite a feat lugging everything around before checking it in. once that was taken care of, everything went smoothly. now, let's cross our fingers for the return flight!

glad you made it and the meds worked. I fly all the time with Jack and it's such a nightmare. I always pray there are super nice flight attendents that think Jack is cute enough to give me a break for a few minutes.
I am glad that she was so cooperative on the trip out. Here is what I do with Amaya. We stash some of her favorite snacks. You know the ones she isnt allowed everyday. My faves for flying include lollipops and fruit leathers. She loves them, they last a long time, and they keep her jaw moving (cabin pressure) and mouth closed.
