ava's birthday parties

so ava's birthday was two weeks ago and i'm just now getting around to blogging about her parties. i've been in mega organization mode and have been running around getting my life in order, from our finances, to church callings, to helping bryce with applications, to household stuff, to planning our future, etc.! i just can't stop thinking of things to do and so my blogging has been put on the back burner. that being said, my apologies for such a belated post, but i would feel bad if i didn't at least record a bit of the events of my daughter's birthday.

on her actual birthday we took ava to her favorite pizza place, barro's. she loves that place mostly because there's a little play place for her. mama olivia, papa and grandma virginia joined us for pizza, cupcakes and a few presents.

honestly, this would've been just enough for her, but since it was mid-week most of the family wouldn't have been able to be there so we decided to throw her a small party at the park that weekend.

ava loves the park. i wish i could take her everyday because of the joy that it brings her. so, what better place to have her party than at the park? ava spent most of her time on the swing, lucky for me i had family around volunteering to push her.

we had pizza, salad, chips and cupcakes... again. four of ava's favorite foods. check out ava's cheeks as she blows out the candles. can you tell that she's been practicing?

the weather was just right, there was a slight chill in the air, but nothing like last year. ava received lots of great presents and had a wonderful time with her family.

we even had a pinata, which i thought ava would enjoy swatting at, but she refused to participate. her cousins sure had fun taking a swing at it, though.

after three or four tries through the line, we handed the stick to bryce to finally break it open. it took him a few tries before it finally busted.... it was a pretty tough pinata.

by the end of the day, bryce and i were spent. it's amazing how exhausting two year old birthday parties can be.
