last week i watched my friend nicole's little girl for a couple hours. ever since then, ava has been asking for her friend ruby. or as she calls her, "reddy". the other day i handed ava the sippy cup that ruby had used when she came over and ava said, "reddy's?" same with a few other things that ruby had used during her little visit here. apparently, ruby left quite the impression on ava.
ava insisted on riding on the choo-choo train with ruby. surprisingly, neither of them minded one another and actually stayed on it long enough for me to run and grab my camera and snap a few shots.
ava kept pulling out every one of her toys to show ruby, she was so excited to share them and teach ruby how they all worked.
i think ava could sense that ruby was younger than her, because she instinctly took on the role of the "older sister". she even "read" her a book. it must've been a good story, because ruby just sat and listened.
after lunch, it was dancing time. here's ava showing off her moves. ruby had some pretty good moves herself.
i was absolutely floored when ava was even willing to share her most prized posession with ruby, her blanket. what surprised me even more than that was when she actually let me hold ruby without having a major meltdown. she had no problem with it!
