last week, jamie posted a blog about a personality test she had taken. i decided to take it myself and was actually surprised at how well it pinpointed me. usually these personality tests are vague enough to fit most people but i thought that it wrapped me up nicely in a short paragraph:
Type Six The Loyalist

Type Six The Loyalist

The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.
upon first reading, i completely agreed with pretty much the entire paragraph. now as i read it, two words flash out at me; two flaws: self-doubt and suspicion. yes, i do doubt a lot of things... bryce points out that i doubt my sewing skills and all the things i sew or make.... this is true. but i would like to think that i'm confident with who i am, that i don't doubt myself, rather just doubt any skills or talents i might possess. suspicion to me sounds as though i have a hard time trusting people and i think i'm quite the opposite. i tend to trust too much, or as i like to see it, i have a lot of faith in people. but then again, if you've wronged me too many times, i won't lay down and take it, i'll remember that you're not one to be trusted and regaining my trust takes work. i asked bryce if these thoughts were self-denial and he lovingly reminded me that this was only a random internet personality test and that it would not be able to define who i was by asking 36 questions. thank you, bryce, for keeping my feet on the ground.
but just for fun, what did those 36 questions reveal about you??

diana, I love the blog, all the great pics and the michael scott quote is hilarious, and I'll let you know about the personality test after I've taken it.
check out my blog too - www.thehansenspot.com
How fun. I'll have to try it out!
i'm a type four - the individualist. "the sensitive, withdrawn type: expressive, dramatic, self-absorbed, and temperamental." i think sensitive is the only positive descriptor up there. (as much as i hate to admit it) it's pretty spot on.
tawnya and nicole... take the test, i wanna know what it reveals!
sarah... i think that's a pretty good description of you, but i don't think those adjectives are necessarily negative. it's fun to see all the different 'types' of friends i have. such variety!
at least you're not a pipe dreamer and liar, like me.
whenever we would plan a boutique party you were totally the "troubleshooter". i'm more of a deal with it when it comes. the stress of planning ahead is an ideal trait that i'll never have. it's not in me to worry.
I am gonna check this out too. Curiousity got the better of me. LOL>
I just read a quote like- don't worry under 20, worry to much until we're 30 then at 40 realize none of it was worth worrying about.
i changed my blog name to smufamily.blogspot.com just an FYI.
ok, so if you can believe it - it was a tie between 'the helper' and 'the peacemaker'
The Helper
The caring, interpersonal type - empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted, friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing.
The Peacemaker
The easy-going, self-effacing type - accepting, trusting, and stable, creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace.
sounds pretty close - reading through all the types, they're the ones i would have chosen anyway. Kinda fun to look at anyway
