flagstaff

leaving town, with my feet on the dash, was just what i've been wanting and needing to do.  i love the feeling i get when we pack our bags, jump in the car, shuffle the ipod and hit the road.  

we spent the weekend up north in flagstaff visiting my aunt and enjoying the cooler weather.  ava had a ball.  not only did she get to hang out with one of her favorite people, my aunt nena, but she also enjoyed, a little hiking, exploring, collecting pine cones, playing games, staying up late, and watching movies.

little emaline, loved doing a little exploring herself... she got into everything, climbed the stairs a dozen times, and enjoyed plenty of attention from everyone.  

as for bryce and i, we loved kicking back, relaxing and enjoying our time together as a family.  oh, and the wonderful homemade meals that were so graciously prepared for us... delicious.  we also happened to plan our trip only a day after our friends had their baby, so we were able to visit with them and see their new tiny bundle.

in a nut shell...

the weather was great,  

the drive and conversation, enjoyable,

the food, fantastic, 

and the weekend, too short.

with the weather heating up, i have a feeling we'll be escaping again soon.
