emaline's hair grows like a weed, so the bang idea is too high maintenance for such a little girl... so we're growing it all out. and since she yanks out any and all clips from her hair, unless it's atop her head in a pony, it usually looks like this...

which always reminds me of this sesame street character...

when em was newly born, the nurses and doctors couldn't believe how much hair she had. i was expecting to have a bald baby, since ava was just that until she was over a year old, so i was actually very surprised at the full head of hair she was born with. that soft, thick, fluffy mop atop her head was just darling and certainly set her apart from other babies. i loved peeking into our bassinet and seeing nothing but a poof of hair. as she grows older, i know her unique thick hair will soon blend in with other kids as their hair catches up to hers, causing it to eventually become the usual. but until then, i love to relish in her unique and amazingly beautiful, messy mop of hair.
