magic kingdom

august 1984 - me in the middle at age (barely) 3, with my sister and aunt

every summer, for as long as i can remember, my sister and i were sent off to california and colorado for weeks/months at a time to spend time with family we hadn't seen all year. it was a time that i looked forward to every year. even when i was very young, despite being homesick at times, i always enjoyed my visits. some of my very favorite memories were made there. and fortunately for us, visiting disneyland and six flags was always a must during our stay in california. my sweet aunts and sometimes, my grandma would load us in the car and take us for a day of fun. looking back, i realize how spoiled i was. i went to disneyland AND six flags every single summer, and sometimes even sea world was thrown in the mix. how lucky was i? because i remember these visits and trips so well, i can't help but feel nostalgic when i take my own kids to the exact same places that i went when i was their age, riding the exact same rides and seeing the exact same sights and making the exact same memories of our own.
here are some pictures of our most recent trip to the magic kingdom.

{another quick picture of me that i was reminded of after seeing the picture of em's with the same character.}

i had to click on that picture of you and ava bc i thought your sweatshirt was either build-a-bear or grateful dead. i am thankful that it was neither.

(loooove that picture of you running as a kiddo.)

josh... um yes. how could you forget i was there? such a fantastic trip. who else went? kelly, paige, hans, dave, annelise?? i can't remember who else. didn't we drive home after a whole day there? all i remember is getting home in at like 7am and crawling in bed... in fact, i missed my future husband's homecoming from his mission due to this trip. still was a great trip though, sorry bryce.

sar...oh my, i wonder how many people at disneyland thought i was wearing a build-a-bear/gd sweatshirt. kill me now.
