drawings

can you guess which one is bryce?

in ava's drawings you will always find herself fashioned in a pink outfit, sandwiched between her mom and her best friend ruby. sometimes emaline makes it into the picture. if she doesn't and you ask her about it, she'll reply that emaline isn't in the picture 'cause she's at home sleeping. and up until a few weeks ago, daddy didn't make it into the pictures either because as ava explained, "he's at work." (that comment made bryce pretty sad, one day bryce, 13 hour work days will be a thing of the past.)
so a little later, ava decided to draw a picture of her daddy at work.
"what is this a picture of, ava?"
"daddy driving his truck at work."
"oh, and what are all those little circles?" i asked, thinking that my smart little girl had drawn the water bottles that he delivers off his truck.
"those are all the girls in his truck."

Aaaaand Bryce's secret life of trucking girls around is now revealed. Who knew Ava couldn't keep a secret?

Sophie always asks "When I'm old, like 25, can I go to Papa's work too?" Long work days are hard on everybody.

Oh -- the long hours... it reminds me of when mary was little, ray was either gone to work, or he was ALWAYS gone with his calling -- He was leaving at one point and Mary looked up from what she was doing and said "Thanks for the visit Dad!"

Funny how they see things...Love that little Ava.

what a little harlot. or by double standard's definition, pimp. (i really just wanted to use the word harlot.)

now if he was still working for the limousine company, this picture would actually ring true.
