our vacation wrapped up at the happiest place on earth...
disneyland.
as we crossed through the castle and into fantasyland, emaline gasped, "a playground?!!"
it was kinda perfect.
we went on peter pan first. ava has been all about peter pan lately so we thought for sure she'd love it. she left the ride crying and proclaiming,
"i never want to come to disneyland again!"
this kind of nonsense continued on every ride until we hit up, it's a small world. and emaline followed the example of big sis and started crying in line of every ride, too. i guess i can't really blame them, ironically, those fantasyland rides can be a bit scary. but these girls come from the school of hard knocks, so we forced them on ride after ride. they were going to have fun whether they liked it or not.
and fun they did have. once the girls warmed up to the idea of disneyland and realized that everything was "just pretend", they really enjoyed themselves. especially by day two, when they got their faces painted. who knew face paint (and $32) could bring so much joy?
oh, and minnie mouse!
i mom-walked as fast as i could with adele in the baby carrier, to get in line fast enough for my girls to be able to meet her. i would've elbowed and run over a few kids if they got in my way... i was that determined.
adele was a champ. this is my favorite picture of her on this trip. limbs limp, bunny slippers and fast asleep in the baby carrier.
and this pic of her is for sure a close second.
what a trooper... a space trooper, that is.
but the best part of disneyland for us, was watching our girls squeal and scream in delight, as they watched the fireworks show on the last night. they. just. loved them.
disneyland isn't the easiest with a new baby, but we managed, and despite a couple leaky, poopy diapers, two accidents and multiple meltdowns, we had a great time, but more importantly made some great memories.

$32 dollars for face paint!!! holy moly. i am such a cheap A, i'm afraid i'm never going to take my kids to d-land. and i'm also afraid they would cry and complain the whole time... ha.
glad you guys had fun. and i see sarah porter in the pics... looks like you made a good match diana!!!
natalie... i know, disneyland is steep. but honestly, the 32 bones dropped was entirely worth it. it also prevented any tears from ava for fear that her beautiful paint would be ruined. emaline, couldn't care less, those tears wiped away her make-up in a few hours.
oh, and yes natalie... a great match!
"i mom-walked..."
i love you, d.
