i got tagged a couple weeks ago by my friend sarah. i had just gotten tagged a few days prior to that so i felt like i needed to let some time pass between these posts so my readers weren't tagged-out.
rules:
1. we have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. people who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. at the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.
here goes... eight things about me.
1. i am terrified of spiders. my first instinct when i see one is to run as far away and cover my mouth to prevent my screams from frightening too many people. i honestly have to try hard to prevent myself from tearing up and hyperventilating when i see one. i can't even watch scenes of movies with spiders... i close my eyes until they're done. that's right... i haven't seen the spider bite scene of spiderman or the huge spiders in lord of the rings or harry potter (i've only been told of them), i immediately cover my eyes until my husband (or anyone else) tells me when it's over and fills me in on the importance of the scene afterwards. it's a little embarassing, and i have to try very hard not to tear up in front of people if i see one in public. i have no idea where this fear has stemmed from, i wish i did so i could get over it. i have nightmares about them a lot. it seems as though it only escalates as the time goes on.
2. i only write in lowercase. in the year 2000, i stopped using capital letters and have never gone back. i hate the way my capital letters look, you would think being the obsessive editor that i am that i would drive myself nuts, but i think lower-case letters best suit how i feel and think. i know it's weird. i just hope that ava won't pick up my bad habit so she won't get reprimanded when she's in school.
3. i love my friends. i think friendships are important and i am fortunate to have such wonderful ones in my life. i love to swap advice and stories with my girlfriends and see a little of myself in each one of them. i would consider many people my close friends.... i believe there comes a point in one's life where you finally weed out the not-so-great friends and you're left with nothing but the best ones. i think i'm getting there.
4. i can say words backwards with ease. yeah, i have an odd talent of being able to say and spell words backwards. my husband thinks it's a neat party trick. i have even made up my own rules about it. for example: the word rewind... when i say it backwards the "i" turns from a hard "i" sound to a soft "ih" sound, so it's prounounced d-new-er not d- ni-wer... that sounds awkward and would just be weird.
5. i talk way too much... ask my husband.
6. i stress about too many things. not only do i stress about my own problems but i seem to stress more about other people's problems. i wish i had more of a "no skin off my back" attitude. i think it's because i like to be in control of things and when problems arise it throws me off track or when they're not my problems, there's nothing i can do about them. it's frustrating.
7. i don't like chocolate chip cookies or brownies. they're so dry and chocolatey. now, a yummy sugar cookie or a moist chocolate cake, those i could go for.
8. i think i'm nocturnal. i am always sleepy... except at night. my energy comes alive, my productivity increases and my best ideas all come out at night. i wish the world revolved around my nocturnal schedule, i think i would be a more successful person. instead i have to go on living my life with my circadian rhythms all out of whack.

i thought you just ignored me.
i don't know if we can be friends now that i know you aren't into chocolate chip cookies. you crazy.
You don't talk way too much. I love listening to you. You're the cutest Diana.
I can sing all of the words to Jingle Bells backwards. Gnishad orth eth ons, ni a no sroh nepo ails... and so on and so forth. Do you keep combined sounds, such as "th" together? I do. We should get together at parties.
That was so much fun for me to read all of these things about you! The better I get to know you, the more I'm finding out that we are a lot alike in a lot of ways...except, I really love chocolate chip cookies...and brownies...and sugar cookies too!
your year 2000 decision to do away with capital letters all together was probably the best decision you've ever made, right? life changing.
i've come to learn that "weeding out" good from the bad in all things is necessary for a happy life.
and i don't like chocolate chips, either. i eat around the chocolate chips cuz the cookie part is not so bad.
hey thanks... you are so funny about your comment. Yeah, he looked pretty funny in it. I didn't realize plaid on plaid doesn't really go. Oh well. It's the thought right?
it's annoying me again... ha.. I can look into you getting one if you are really interested. You'd be way better than me at this.
