color!
right now, ava is really big into coloring. whenever she sees crayons, colored pencils, pens, pencils or even just a plain piece of paper, she immediately starts urgently repeating "color, color, color!" she has never been into coloring, and one day she suddenly loved it. she found a pencil in our office and a pad of paper and she held onto it for about an hour scribbling. she would move from one activity to the next stopping for a few seconds to scribble then continued on. it was so funny. what impressed bryce and i was how well she held the pencil. she didn't grab it in a fist like i expected her to, instead, she positioned it very carefully in her right hand with her left hand and would begin writing, then would reposition it if it slipped. where did she learn to do that? you can kind of see how she holds it in the picture below. it's not as proper as she normally does it because she has a harder time with thicker crayons and holds it more properly with thinner items, but you get the idea.

Hello, ofcourse she knows how to hold a pen, crayon, whatever! She is your daughter! Brady did that same thing when he found out about coloring, he would wake up begging to color and want to do it all day long!
In church, we bought him a steno pad, we take a couple crayons and he sits there quietly and colors the WHOLE time!
She's is so cute by the way!
hey with all your spare time :) I thought of something else you should do! Izzy is a puker, not just after meals it continues on clear to the next meal! I have never wanted to put her in a bib because they are UGLY! I am ruining all her clothse though, so I decided I need you to make cute bibs and sell them to me!
what an artiste... miles has taken up coloring too... coloring on the walls. and instead of ava's delicate, careful coloring, his is violent and maniacal. ah, boys.

Oh, gracie loves to color too, just not on paper! on the walls, the couch, the floor, i think she might get into murals some day! (but for right now, the magic eraser is my best friend.)

That is sooo adorable! I love it! I tried to talk to you gals last night, but by the time I was done with kitchen duty, you had left! Bummer!!!
She looks darling. Charlotte loves to color as well. It's a life saver when she and Tucker decide to quietly sit and color, ah my sanity almost returns.
That is pretty impressive, the way she holds that crayon. Can't wait until Ruby will sit still and color...right now she's just in to everything!
how fun. I can't wait until Jack starts to color like Ava but I'm pretty sure he won't do it in the lines like she will. PS I'm so glad you like fiest.... 1234 is my favoritest song!
Bennett likes to color too....on the walls and floors and furniture! I avoid crayons in my house lately like the plague! Can't wait until he gets over this phase!
