thank you mama!

a couple of weeks ago, my mom decided she wanted to learn how to sew. so she purchased a new sewing machine, some remnants to practice on and with some help from my grandma and myself, she began teaching herself how. the first project she completed was a blanket for ava. my mom never made me a blanket or anything of the sort when i was a baby, so you can imagine how treasured this item will be for years to come.

ava is still warming up to it, and although she is far from giving up her old trusty pink blanket, she has allowed it to become a supplemental blanket. today when we were getting in the car, she grabbed "mama's" blanket and pleaded to bring it with us. thank you, mama, for making us this mod and stylish blanket, we love it!

How cute! I seriously love to sew too, not just anything though, mainly just quilts. I made my first quilt for Ty several months ago (a vintage cowboy quilt) and I thoroughly enjoyed making it, and most of all, seeing the finished product. What a sweet grandma to make her a blanket!

How cute is it that they get so attached to items like blankets and pillows, I know I still have my blanket my grandma made me when I was a baby. So fun...I need to learn how to sew too so I can make my own kids blankets...maybe you should give lessons???

Ella was a piece of cake if that gives you hope. It's just been our crazy little Bennett with the recent bed issues. Seriously I bet she'll be fine!

How sweet of your mom. Her blanket turned out awesome. Just goes to show it's never too late to learn a new skill or develop a new hobby.

Love it!
