go, ava, go!

with all the excitement of our new baby, i've failed to mention a couple other exciting changes in our lives!

literally, 2 days before we had emaline, ava made the transition from a crib to a toddler bed. this was such a difficult change for me, because it meant that my little girl was growing up. thankfully, my daughter handles change way better than me because she took to it right away. she was so excited to hop into her new bed. she slept through the whole night and didn't try and come out of her room on her own. in fact, when she woke in the morning she called out to us and waited for us to come get her. her naps weren't affected either, she slept just like she would sleep in her crib. after we had emaline, i was sure that ava would want her crib back or start escaping or refusing to go to sleep, but no, she has been wonderful! it's been a couple weeks now and she still calls out to me when she wakes up and waits for me to come and get her out of bed. how awesome is that?

about a month ago, ava finally started using the pedals on her tricycle. she got this bike for christmas and up until now, she would push herself along on it with her feet. every once in a while she would push the pedals for a few inches and then proceed with the feet pushing. one day, bryce took her out and told her to "push the pedals fast". she put her feet on them and took off pedaling! we are so proud.
