remember back in september when bryce and i were called to be ward jazz hands specialists... you know, the roadshow peeps?
well, november 15th was the day of the roadshow performances. bryce and i have been working on it for countless hours, staying up late, writing the script, writing lyrics, recording music, working on the set and costumes and heading up the rehearsals. it became a huge part of our daily lives... it was honestly one of the biggest and shortest callings i've ever had. (sorry, kayleen... it was our calling, and your calling in life is to be my friend so you have to hear allllll 'bout it.)
i'll be honest. when we were called, i wanted to run as far away as i possibly could. i felt so incompetent, i don't remember exactly but i'm sure i was pretty close to tears once we were finally by ourselves. but somehow, we did it. and somewhere at sometime, it became really fun. bryce and i would be up late at night writing the script and lyrics to the songs, laughing it up. when it was finally time to show the kids the script, i was really nervous. here was our precious script that we had put so much time and effort in... i had no idea what people would think of it, but everyone loved it!
thankfully, we had a super talented artist on our team, who headed up the backdrop. she did an amazing job, such talent! (thank you, thank you, thank you scarlett!) bryce and i loved getting to know all the youth in our ward, they were so fun to work with and they did a great job bringing our little project to life! many people came up to us after the show, telling us that ours was the best... who knows if it was really true, but it was nice to hear anyways. later that night, after all the performances were over i turned to bryce and told him that i was kinda sad that it was over. i never thought i'd actually ever say that and feel that way but i did.

1. we had a to use a spatula 3 different times throughout the skit.
2. we had to use the phrase "here yonder peasant boy, fetch me my sword." (lame, i know, their rules not mine.)
3. we had to use two songs we drew out of a hat, ours were "can you feel the love tonight" and "someday my prince will come" and re-write lyrics to them.
turn up the volume, sit back and get ready to laugh your knee-length shorts off...

this comment is gross and totally indicative of it being after midnight, but i'm going with it.
Bryce and Diana -
I was so excited to hear that you and Bryce were called to be the roadshow leaders this year. I also felt a little pang for you knowing that it was going to be a huge undertaking. Then... I found out the date for the shows and almost bawled. We had planned a weekend vacation to Disney (all 3 girls were dancing) We were going to miss the show. This was Ammah's last year to do the road show and Andelyn's first. We were so bummed and now I see how cute it was and I feel even worse (thanks a lot). You guys rocked the roadshow world. Congrats. I've heard rave reviews.. you should believe all the compliments!! And now you have more confidence in yourselfs to rise to a huge occasion.
