coming up for air

i won't even talk about my unintentional month long blog hiatus... instead i'll pretend it didn't happen and maybe even play some catch up.

well, of course i'm not completely to blame for not keeping up on here. our home purchase, fixing up and moving have consumed almost our entire summer (not to mention our bank account) and just barely do i feel like i'm coming up for air. i don't feel like i'm anywhere near surfacing for good yet, but i do feel moments where i can finally take a breath here and there.

today i finally found the box where our camera cords were packed, and that was motivation enough to finally upload the pictures from my two cameras and sit down and write a post. between the two cameras there was over 200 pictures waiting for me from the past month and half or so. don't worry, i'm not planning on posting them all, but i will post a few at least. proof that we are here, we are alive and that our anti-socialness can be justified.

until then, i will leave you with this one.

we had just been handed the keys to our house a few hours earlier. it was late but we packed the girls in the car and drove out to "the new house". maybe we just wanted to see if the keys really worked and if the house was really ours. either way, we were all excited and huddled down by the front door and snapped our first family front door picture at our very own house.

and sure enough, the keys unlocked the door.
