our boutique sale was this past saturday and this was the most stressful one for me. i think it's because we did it differently than we had in the past. normally we send out invitations and prepare appetizers and have someone host it at their house. just to mix things up a bit we decided to try and attract some new customers so we set it up garage sale style, but indoors and a little classier. we thought it would be less work since we wouldn't need to hand out invites and provide the food. we were wrong. i was so stressed trying to get signs made and ads placed all between getting my stuff done. kayleen is due in a week and i didn't want her stressing over anything so i took on most of the work this time, which i didn't mind. in fact, my friend lindsay helped me out a ton. i just overwhelmed myself, which could've easily been fixed if i didn't make so much stuff! at least i have a good inventory for the next one.
we had a total of 8 vendors.... mostly selling baby stuff, with the exception of lindsay's "finger food" rings. (cute name which suits fittingly with the cute rings she makes!) i didn't get a chance to snap pictures of her table because my battery died... i need a new camera. anyways, we're looking for people who make items for adults so if you know any crafty people, let us know. and don't forget to pass on the word about flour clothing and baby ava designs. thank you to all of you who came, we appreciate the support!
after the boutique was spent taking down signs and cleaning up. i was exhausted since i had been sleep deprived all week. my husband was such a trooper! not only did he help us make the signs, but he and his brother moved all the furniture out of the room for our boutique, then woke up early the next morning to put up all the signs and then headed over to my sister's house to help them move all day. and he didn't stop there! after helping them move all day, he came back to move all the furniture back into the house and never complained once about having to help me! i told him that as a thank you to him, he could have a saturday all to himself to record some of his songs. once i told him that, i could tell that he thought his work was worth it! he certainly deserves it, don't you think? thanks babe, i love you!
