ava's first concert

ava's cousin colin, was the first to introduce ava to "the wiggles". we bought her a few wiggles dvd's and although she's entertained by them every once in a while, they're not totally her favorites. she has a wiggles book that she enjoys reading more. but still, when we heard that the wiggles were coming to arizona we thought it'd be fun to take her and let her get her wiggle on. who better to show her the ropes than her cousin colin so we all went together.

the concert started at one, just in time for both of the kids' naps, but they hung in there. the hardest part was trying to keep them entertained before the show started.

once the show started, ava was entertained from start to finish. her eyes never left the stage, nor did she leave our laps. good thing we paid for her seat so my purse had a nice place to sit, (not that i really had a choice anyways).

literally, one minute before showtime, the lady behind bryce taps him on the shoulder, informing him not to put ava down on the floor 'cause she had just spilled her soda. i looked down to see the pool of coke forming around my husband's feet. i looked back at her to see if she was going to do anything about it and she just sat back in her chair, chattin' it up on her cell phone. so i got up, grabbed a bunch of paper towels, realized that this was going to take more than just a few paper towels and grabbed the nearest usher to call a clean up crew. meanwhile, the lady just sat there! the show started and the janitor had to move all of our seats leaving us standing in the middle of the aisle with no where to go. i couldn't believe that lady was just going to do nothing and let us sit in a pool of her coke the entire hour and a half show! come on, lady!

aside from the coke spillage, the rest of the concert was great! we had great floor seats, thanks to my bro-in-laws lightning fast ticketmaster skillz, and had a great view of the stage.

ava just loved it! she still talks about it every day: "colin, wiggles, twinkle star, octopus, wags doggy, dinosaur, jeff sleeping, bye-bye wiggles..." we had a great time together and enjoyed seeing her reaction to everything. jury's still out on who had more fun: us or ava.

all the fun and excitement was too much for ava to handle, she was out within 5 minutes on the drive home. bryce and i felt like this, too.

i don't think she's ready for an all-day concert festival, quite yet.
