it's the most wonderful time of the year!

this weekend rocked. not only did i score a whopping 9 points in an intense game of catan, but i actually felt well enough to go out and do things. this pregnancy has been much different and easier than my last. don't get me wrong, i've been queasy, sick and exhausted, but nothing compares to my sickness with ava. on friday, my nausea seemed to leave and i felt great! i thought it was just a good day, but the next day i felt even better! could it be possible that i won't be sick for all nine months this time around?? i woke up and hit some garage sales and happened on some fantastic finds. anybody who knows me, knows how much i love a good garage sale, and fall/winter is the season for the sales. there's a slight (this year a very slight) chill in the air and an abundance of garage sales which makes my heart beat fast with excitement. it's truly the most wonderful time of the year! i had to come home early because i ran out of space in my car and couldn't carry one more thing. here are a few of my finds.

i've been looking for a small slide that we could put in the backyard for ava. nothing too big and fancy since she's still small. i pulled up, saw this and claimed it right away. if i wasn't so excited for this perfect find i probably would've talked them down in price because i always am out for a bargain, so i paid more than i wanted to, but i still got a great deal on it. $18

my next purchase was not anything that i was specifically looking for, but i'm always up for an extra storage bin of some sort. it's small enough for me to tuck in a corner and yet provides a decent, aesthetically pleasing area for storage. i figured for $6 i couldn't go wrong.

my final reason for sailing was to find some sort of shelving system i could use to store ava's toys. i originally wanted something with cubby holes, but knew that i would probably have to settle for a plain bookshelf instead. you can imagine my great excitement when i pulled up in front of this...

for a mere $10, i have the perfect shelf to store away all of her toys! it needs to be painted, (i'm thinking i want to paint it a bright red with some black and cream baskets or maybe cream with red baskets, i haven't officially decided yet) but it is very sturdy and is very difficult to tip even when it's not against a wall. it's exactly what i was looking for!

unfortunately, despite my fantastic weekend, my nausea and sickness crept back into my life and i've been feeling terrible the past two days. it was nice to have a small break at least.

I seriously think that the slide, although probably passed from garage sale to garage sale used to be my moms. We had that exact slide in our back yard 5 years ago. I wish now that I'd have carved my name on the underside of it or something. I just love getting deals at garage sales!

That's so funny cause I've had a garage sale slide on my mind for a while now too.

Mesa garage sales beat out Tucson's so bad though. We have what we lovingly refer to here as "garage stores", where all the, um, undocumented workers buys stuff from one garage sale, and then sell it at their own sale weekly.

Target's bins have worked really well for Sophie's toys-and they come in all sorts of colors. You should see if they'll fit.

ok the end.

John loves garage sales, too! I get frustrated because I've never been able to find anything decent, while people all around me are unearthing all kinds of treasures! Great finds!

You do so well at garage sales! I'm so impressed Diana! Okay wait... maybe I'm retarded... but I didn't know you are pregnant??!! Maybe I didn't read far enough down. Congratulations! I am glad to hear that you are feeling better than last. Maybe it's a boy or just you did your time feeling sick!
