deal or no deal?

my, oh my! what a day i had yesterday! deal or no deal was holding a casting call at fort mcdowell casino yesterday, looking for their next contestants. my mom decided that she wanted to go, so my dad was going to take her, but i offered instead since my dad didn't really want to go and try out. so he watched ava for me and off we went.

the casting call was supposed to begin at 1pm, so we got there around 10:30ish. there were already so many people there, just as i expected.

i thought that we'd probably be done by 4 maybe 5 by the latest. it was hot and i worried that my mom would get very worn out, so the entire day i held our place in line while my mom sat down and rested sporadically. everyone was so hot and so thirsty! i made sure that my mom stayed hydrated, as well as myself. at least there was a breeze.

we ended up making friends in line, which helped the day go by much more quickly. let me just tell you this... had we known how long we were going to have to wait in that line, none of us would've gone. later we would find out that there were over 12,000 people there! it was absolutely insane, but by the time that i was beyond exhausted, i had already devoted 5 hours of my time there and was not willing to give it up.

we waited and waited, talked, made jokes, made fun of half the people there... i know, i know, mean, but you would've too if you had seen half the people standing in line and were crabby from exhaustion and bored like we were. we needed something to pass the time along.

we even got to see howie! wait a second....

so what did we wait in line for? 20 seconds. 20 seconds to tell the casting producers why you out of the thousands of people there, were the one they should pick to put on the show. by the time we finally made it to the casting room it was 7:30pm! we had waited 9 hours in line, exhausted and beaten and what they wanted was energy. they kept coming out to the crowd yelling at us, telling us to get pumped and give them energy. it was finally our turn at the producer's table, so i reached down and found the last bit of energy that i had, smiled and delivered my 20 seconds to the producer. and then it was over. i looked over at my mom and asked her if it was worth it? she just laughed. i'm not sure what that meant, but i must say that my mom was quite the trooper! she made it through the whole day and was still laughing by the end of it. i kept thinking through out the day that if i felt this horrible, imagine how she must be feeling. we were both so exhausted... did i mention that i locked the keys in the car at the beginning of the day? so bryce, ava and my dad all headed over when we were done and brought us the spare key... i called them right before we hit the casting room and we met at our car at the exact same time. i have never been happier to sit down. i was so exhausted from the days events, my body hurt everywhere my face and arms were completely sunburnt!
although it was quite an experience i would never, ever do that again. maybe down the road if they ever call me on the show i'll say it was worth it.
