what a day

yesterday afternoon ava and i headed to joann's for some more fabric for some of my latest home projects. my cell phone was on silent so i didn't get the many calls from my husband saying that he would be coming home early. i was so disappointed when i checked my phone an hour later to see that he had been home for almost an hour. lately, it seems as though we only see each other for a couple hours a day, if that, so i was so bummed that i was gone the one day that he came home early. i rushed home, got dinner started, washed the dishes, cleaned up a little, got ava ready for bed and finally plopped down on the couch around 7 with bryce. he had gotten a call earlier that day from his work saying that he had an early day the next day and that he had to be in at 5:30am! we both decided we needed to be in bed by 10 at the absolute latest in order for him to get some good sleep. bryce had a little bit of homework to do and i really needed to go grocery shopping that night because we were out of milk and some other things, so around 8, i decided to go. i was planning on being home before nine.

after spending more time and money than i had hoped at the store, i headed out to my car a little depressed. as i approached my car, something looked odd. i realized that my rear driver's side tire was completely flat! great. i called bryce and we started to try and figure out what we should do. ava was fast asleep at home and it was nearly ten o'clock. i told him that i could just try and change it myself, but he insisted that i didn't. we considered waking ava up and bringing her, but realized that i had the key to the other car. we thought to call someone in our neighborhood to come sit at our house with ava, while bryce came over and changed the tire, but because of how late it was on a weekday, we felt bad bothering anyone. bryce decided to call his younger brother but he was busy. he finally called his mom and she headed over pajamas and all. because he didn't have the keys to our car he had to borrow her car. by the time he got to the store, me and my defrosting groceries had been sitting in the parking lot for a good half hour-45 minutes. we loaded the groceries into his mom's car and i headed home while bryce stayed and changed the tire. by the time bryce got home it was nearly 11pm... not the time we expected to go to sleep that night.

this morning i got a phone call from my mother-in-law. apparently, after returning home in her car with the groceries, i failed to remember to grab my purse. *sigh*

i have a headache.

sad. i wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to change a tire. we should all probably know that, huh.
